Life isn’t easy. A statement which strikes even truer in the midst of a pandemic that has, quite frankly, overstayed its reluctant welcome. Trying to compile an entire literary magazine from scratch purely through the medium of the internet and online tools proved to be a much more daunting task than anyone could have predicted. Those long nights spent hunched over the oblong, florescent screens of our laptops, agonising over every minuscule detail. Which shade of beige is just right? What font captures the text best? How do we make Sociolinguistics fun? Getting hit by a wave of sleep-deprived hysteria and briefly contemplating throwing in the towel, changing our names and migrating to Timbuktu. Our backs aching and our eyes taking on that gritty sensation that comes from lack of rest. Well, it was an experience. Do I want to repeat it? You know what, yes, I do — just not while we are exclusively confined to the four walls of our apartments and are able to get real time input from other human beings. That would be nice. So please don’t let our collective efforts go to waste. We do hope you enjoy reading this a lot more than we enjoyed the process of producing it for you.
